*a creak as he lifts the window open, peers out under it and smiles* You gonna try and take me out after curfew?

*smiles back* If you'll come with me to the dance in the gym--

'Course. *laughs* We're going steady -- that means I'll come with you to every dance in every gym ever. And if it's after curfew, nuts to curfew.

*smile* Climb down and let me kiss you?

I can do that. *opens the window wide enough to crawl through -- the wall outside his window has a trellis made for evening escapes, because it certainly isn't doing much for foliage*

*and stands below him, to catch him should he fall--but if he escapes without incident, then Horatio will go to him and hug him*

*ee -- sweeps him close and kisses him*

*smiles, silly--Hamlet really seems okay lately, or like he's trying hard to be* What've you been doing lately? I've missed you.

*trying, trying hard, and grinning* Daydreaming about you.

*has to kiss him again for that, because even if it's just part of the game it's terribly charming* Now I have to take you somewhere nice. Would you like to go walking with me?

I would! Maybe down some little lane with shapes of trees softening in the evening light -- and I can put my head on your shoulder, and you can tell me how much you love me.

*takes his hand, gently* I'd like that, if you know any good lanes

*looking down at their hands together, laughing* They'll all be good, if I'm with you.

*it's how they used to be, Hamlet and Horatio--it nearly breaks his heart to have him like this again* There's a nice one in the park ... the trees aren't blooming yet, but you can see little buds nearly ready to. *tug*

*wants things to be all right -- sometimes he can believe they are, believe he doesn't have to try to be okay, that it can be easy, easy as looping his arm through Horatio's and following him* Summer always comes so slow in Denmark.

*smiles* You just want to curl up in a sunny patch like a big cat. And then I'd have to pet your head and rub behind your ears.

I'd like that -- ! You'd like it, too.

I would like it. *teasing* But if you fell asleep, I'd have to draw whiskers on your cheeks.

Handsome whiskers?

I couldn't imagine you in any other kind. *smile* Even if you grew a mustache, you'd only look a little old-fashioned and dashing.

*delightedgiggle* And if it was a handlebar mustache? Would you still kiss me?

I would, but you'd have tied me to the railroad tracks, and it'd be hard.

Then some dashing hero on horseback would come along and rescue you from me, and I couldn't have that.

*smile* What would you do?

Twirl my mustache, and pull the lever to the marvelous trap I had set for him. And sweep you off your feet cackling into the sunset.
