*by this point, Horatio, Reina, and Anticleia have a house--a nice, one-and-a-half-story place with a bit of a yard and a trellis with roses just beginning to climb it. things have begun to settle; there are still awkward moments at times, still little jealousies and conflicts over space, but even those are only small and quickly resolved.

it's nearly evening. Horatio is sitting on the couch in their front room, fingering the hem of his sweater, waiting for Reina to come home*

I think so. You are very gentle, and you love others a lot. That's the most important part, right?

And I'd love our children -- I'd love them with everything I have. But they might resent it when they're older, and I couldn't stand it if they hated me, so I'd have a terrible time saying no to anything and ... oh. *laughs at herself* I must sound ridiculous.

*kiss* But you don't worry about Anticleia when she goes out with strangers, right? Even though anything could happen?

Sometimes. *sheepishsmile* But then I remember that Anticleia can beat people up.

*laughs* So she'll have to teach our kids to take care of themselves if anything happens.

No. *smiling, though* So we'll have to teach them very well.

We will. *their dinner will arrive at about this time, so Horatio will go quiet as they eat--still beaming, when he's not eating, and ever so glad to have Reina*

Oh -- that's no good, then. It would probably be something like 'married in mauve, you'll be cooked in a stove.'

You've never heard those rhymes? 'Married in white, you have chosen all right; married in brown, you will live out of town.' Except I was thinking mostly white, with a bit of light mauve, that would look nice.

*laughs* You'll be beautiful no matter what you wear ... but I was imagining you in white, with flowers in your hair.

I want to wear white. I want to wear flowers ... *smile* It's silly, but ... I don't want to just look 'nice' on my wedding day. I want my dress to be beautiful, the most beautiful thing I've ever worn, so it means that much more that I'm only wearing it once, and for you. But I'll probably end up buying the cheapest dress I can find and making my own veil. *sheepish*
